| Plate Carrier | Clothing designed to carry bullet-proof plates |
| Point | Lead / front position in a group |

| Angry Playdoh | Plastic explosives, usually C4 |
| Badge | Regimental Sergeant Major or Warrant Officer, named for the large crown on the WO1 rank badge. “You’re to report to the Badge” |
| Bang Stick | A rifle |
| Bone | Stupid or pointless, “Well that was a bone question” |
| Boomstick | A shotgun |
| Boss | Informal yet respectful address for an officer – especially used in situations where disclosure of military status is not advisable. |
| Bug Out | Meaning ‘move from current location as quickly as possible’. Usually if under attack or impending bad situation. |
| Glassed | Massive devastation, which has vitrified the soil – turning it to glass. Usually via nuclear weaponry or equivalent. |

| Rodney | Commissioned officer having been promoted from ORs |

| Wazzy | To have strange and unknown properties. “This is a wazzy space rock” |

| Advanced Flanking Manoeuvres | Retreat. Used derogatorily to accuse someone or a unit of cowardice, such as ‘I hear Trooper West engaged in some “advanced flanking manoeuvres”. |
| As you were | Return to what you were doing / at ease |
| Belay that | Disregard the order just given. Similar to “as you were” |
| Diplomatic Incident | When a diplomatic mission is fouled up by an SEF team resulting in it turning into a combat mission |
| Take point | Lead the group |
| Stand to | Get ready / be prepared / pay attention. Often used when an attack could be expected. |
| Watch your six | Pay attention to things going on behind you. |
